6 Ways to Create a Kitchen Fit for a Queen
This year we are proudly celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, making Her Majesty the first British monarch to mark 70 years of service to the Crown. This is a momentous occasion for the country, which we are sure will see people all over the UK join together with friends and family to celebrate – we hope your kitchens will be put to good use with plenty of entertaining, and maybe even a few of you will be using them to whip up the Platinum Jubilee Trifle!
Whilst we are yet to design a new fitted kitchen for royalty (maybe one day!) we do certainly think we have more than a few kitchen features at our disposal which would be more than fit for a King or Queen. We always say that there is a Kitchenroom kitchen to suit any budget and if you are looking to install a highly premium fitted kitchen you will not be disappointed by the level of quality and choice of bespoke finishes on offer with us. Equally if you budget is a little more modest, there are a number of options open to you which will help elevate the overall look and feel of your kitchen to a stately standard. Here are just some of our favourite ways to lift the finish of your kitchen to regal heights to create a space that the Queen herself would be happy to spend time in.
Get a Bespoke Look with our Paint to Order Service
We carry over 30 different styles of kitchen, all of which come in a fabulous selection of stock colours. For many of our customers the standard colours on offer present more than enough choice and they’re able to find something they love. However, we are also delighted to offer a Paint to Order service, which means your kitchen can be painted in absolutely any colour you desire from the RAL colour chart. That is a huge selection of 2,530 colours to choose from, meaning you can create a totally bespoke look with your kitchen cupboards.
The Paint to Order service is a very popular choice for customers with a strong design vision in mind as it is possible to find the exact colour you desire for your new fitted kitchen. It does add to the overall cost of your kitchen installation, but there is nothing quite like knowing that your kitchen is totally unique and one of a kind.

Elevate the Look of your Kitchen with a Quartz Worktop
One of the most popular upgrades our customers opt for when planning their new fitted kitchen is the worktops. There are some fantastic laminate products on the market now, but nothing elevates the look of a kitchen quite so well as Quartz. Quartz has risen to popularity in recent years due to its good looks and incredible durability. It is a man-made material which is strong and resistant to scratches and other damage, making it the perfect choice for a busy kitchen. It has all the good looks of granite and marble too, so it really does give you the nest of both worlds.
We have an amazing selection of quartz worktops to help create exactly your desired look in your new kitchen. Our worktops are 30mm thick, which also helps to give a really premium finish which shouts luxury. We will be happy to share our wide range of samples with you when we attend your FREE home design visit.
Bring Luxurious Texture to your Traditional Kitchen with Real Wood
If you are thinking about going for a traditional style kitchen, like an in-frame or shaker style, opting for real wooden doors such as Ash wood, is a sure-fire way to bring sumptuous texture into your design. Some customers love the smooth look of painted MDF, which is a great option, but we can’t help but feel that the natural wood grain would very much meet the approval of our outdoors-loving Queen.
The beautiful thing about real wooden doors is that every one is unique. No two pieces have exactly the same grain pattern to them, which emphasises the handmade, bespoke aspects of your new fitted kitchen. All our wooden kitchen doors also come with a 10 year guarantee as standard, so you’ll be getting peace of mind as well as exceptional good looks!

Create a High-End Modern Space with Special Finishes
If a sleek, chic, modern kitchen is your design vision then a bespoke finish will really help to give it the designer look. Our slab and handleless kitchens are available in either gloss or matt finishes, as well as being available in a selection of colours or the Paint to Order Service. However, what makes them extra special is that some are available in a selection of special finishes to give a really premium and unique look. The fabulous Cosdon kitchen, for example has four Foundry finishes available; Black Steel, Charcoal, Tarnished Brass and Tarnished Copper, as well as Halifax Oak and Rust Industrial Laminates. These finishes will create a truly extraordinary modern kitchen, bound to impress anyone who walks through your door.

Upgrade Your Sink for a Premium Look
Until recently not much thought was given to the kitchen sink, but with such a wide range of styles available now it’s become quite the design feature. Butler’s Sinks are a popular choice for customers wanting to give their kitchen a premium look without breaking the bank. These chunky ceramic sinks are an attractive and desirable design feature. In modern kitchens many customers opt for stylish composite sinks which are available in colours such as black, which is very popular at the moment.
Upgrading your sink isn’t necessarily an expensive thing to do, but putting some thought into the different styles and the overall look you’re hoping to achieve will help to create a sense of premium.
Install Fancy Gadgets and Tools to Make Life Easier
In our opinion, one of the best ways to get visitors ooh-ing and ahh-ing over your new kitchen is by installing some super cool gadgets. We definitely don’t believe in pointless gadgets and appliances, but there are definitely some on the market that make life better. One of our favourites has to be the Quooker tap, which can provide boiling, chilled and sparkling water instantly. If the Queen ever did pay you a visit you certainly wouldn’t want to keep her waiting for a cup of tea! Built in wine fridges and coffee machines are also well up there when it comes to our favourite, must-have kitchen gadgets that bring the wow-factor.
