As you may have already ascertained, Kitchenroomis a fitted kitchen design company based in Didcot, near Oxford. We work in our local community and are well placed to supply customers throughout Oxfordshire including Oxford town centre, Abingdon, Didcot, Wallingford, Wantage, Grove, Thatcham, Kidlington and Faringdon.

Founded in 2015(?), we are the proud suppliers of over 30 different kitchen designs for 2023 from the modern slab and handleless styles to the more traditional in frame and shaker kitchens. These come in a variety of stylish stock colours, but our paint to order service means our kitchens are almost completely customisable to your taste and style.

Our kitchens don’t just look good; they are also made to last. All our cabinets come with a 25 year guarantee and are fitted with Blum Soft close hinges and runners as standard out of the factory. We also offer 10 and seven year guarantees on our wooden and MDF doors respectively. We also offer (at no extra charge) eight colour options to colour co-ordinate the cabinets with your kitchen, so you could have light grey, cashmere, porcelain, Lancaster oak to name just a few.

We love designing kitchens, working with customers to help bring their vision to life. If you would like us to we can also arrange to fit and renovate your new kitchen, taking care of everything from the plumbing to the plastering. Equally if you’d rather organise your own fitters and tradespeople that’s great with us too.

“Sounds great, where do we start?”

We start all our kitchen designs with a visit to your home, where we will get all the necessary information and measurements to design your new kitchen, free of charge. During this visit we will present you with sample doors and worktops for you to get a sense of the different styles and high level of quality we offer.

This visit is about showing you what we can offer, but is also an opportunity for us to ask you the right questions about what you do and don’t want in your new kitchen and measure up, all of which takes no more than 60 minutes for an average size kitchen. We like to come away feeling like we’ve got a really great sense of what you are looking to achieve so that we can wow you with your kitchen design.

A short while later we will return your initial design to you and we’ll work together to hone it until it is perfect. Then, when you are 100 % satisfied we will send you the fully itemised and listed quotation of the goods you wish us to supply. We promise to give you our Kitchenroom honest pricing all year round, with a no sale policy; you know you will always be getting our very best price.

“Roughly how much does a new kitchen cost?”

A lot of our customers ask us how much does it cost to fit a new fitted kitchen, and the answer to that depends a various options due to the complexity of your design. If you visit the different kitchen pages on our website you will find some indicative pricing for each design option.

As a rule of thumb, we can say that our average size fitted kitchen cost around £1,500.00 to £1,800.00 to fit and takes around 1 – 2 weeks from start to finish. Week one would consist of the removal of your old kitchen and then making a start on the plastering, plumbing and electrics.Week two would be the start of the fitting of your new kitchen; depending on the material of your worktop your new fitted kitchen could be up and running by the end of the week.

“Brilliant! Do you handle the fitting?”

As we’ve mentioned, we are happy to either simply supply your kitchen to you, or we can arrange for our team of local fitters to manage the installation. If you choose the supply only option then you need to arrange for your kitchen fitter to check the final plans we send you to double check all the measurements and fine-tune any areas which need it. This is standard practise within the kitchen industry, so please make sure this happens, whoever your kitchen supplier is.

If you have chosen the supply and fit option then we will arrange for the kitchen fitter to come to your property at a time that suits you and check all the measurements and finalise the kitchen survey.Then the kitchen fitter will talk to you about any extras that you might also require such as the plastering, plumbing, electrics (including the first and second fix), flooring, tiling, and even knocking down the odd wall or two if required.

“Lovely, that’s all really exciting! How long will my new kitchen take to arrive?”

Our current lead time is within 3 weeks for our stock coloured kitchens, from the approval of your free final kitchen design. We’ll be able to confirm exact timings with you to help you co-ordinate tradespeople once your order has been placed.

“Do you offer Finance to help pay for it?”

We do offer Finance options via an accredited lender. If you would like to find out more about this please contact us, or ask for some more information during your home design visit.
