Have a Brand New Kitchen in Time for Christmas
Now September is here and the autumnal feeling is in the air, thoughts and conversations inevitably go to the months ahead, and in particular that most wonderful time of the year. Yes, we’re talking about Christmas of course! Although it might feel a little bit early to be contemplating what you’re leaving out for Santa this year, now is exactly the right time to be thinking about a new fitted kitchen if you want it fitted and ready to enjoy this December.
As we navigated Covid-19 last year many of us felt robbed of the big family Christmas we know and love, and although we made the best of it, we are certainly excited about the prospect of welcoming friends and family into our homes and kitchens for a big celebration this Christmas. With all that lost time to make up for, many of us feel like we want to make this year’s celebrations better than ever, which may include the perfect new backdrop to host your guests in.
Although we’re not suggesting for a second that you need to have a brand new fitted kitchen to make your Christmas special, if you are thinking about updating your kitchen, now is a great time to start making plans to make sure your kitchen is installed and ready to enjoy and show off in time for December’s festivities. Although most of our kitchens come with a three week lead time, designing and choosing your ideal layout, cabinets and worktops takes time, so it’s great to be organised and give yourself plenty of time.
Are you wondering how to get started? Well here’s a bit about us and how it all works when you purchase a new fitted kitchen from Kitchenroom.

What happens at your free Home Design Visit?
We offer everyone a free home design visit to help us understand the space your new kitchen will occupy and to discuss your ideas, style and budget. We’ll bring along various brochures and samples of doors and worktops to get a sense of what you like and to narrow down potential options for your new kitchen. We’ll take some measurements and then will be on our way to start working on your new kitchen design.
Your home design visit should take no more than 60 minutes, although we will always spend as much time as it takes to make sure we fully understand exactly what you’re looking for.
Your kitchen design
Following your home design visit we will send you a state of the art 3D computer aided design of your new kitchen, showing your new kitchen from a variety of different angles. Of course we’re confident you’ll love your new kitchen design straight away, but there are always little tweaks to be made, so we’ll work with you to hone the design until it is absolutely perfect. When you are 100% satisfied we will send you the fully itemised and listed quotation of the goods you wish us to supply.
Transparency is important to us, which is why we promise to give you our Kitchenroom honest pricing all year round. We have a no sale policy, so you know you will always be getting our very best price.
Placing your order
Once you’ve approved your 3D kitchen design and quotation the ordering process is incredibly straightforward. Firstly you need to decide if you would like us to supply only, or whether you’d like the fully fitted kitchen installation service.
If you choose the supply only option then you will need to arrange for your kitchen fitter to check the final plans we have sent you to make sure that the kitchen we have designed fits perfectly. This is standard practise within the kitchen industry and allows an opportunity for the fitter to ask any questions and make any necessary adjustments.
If you have chosen the supply and fit option then we will arrange for the kitchen fitter to come to your property at a time that suits you and check all the measurements and finalise the kitchen survey. It is at this point that the kitchen fitter will talk to you about any extras that you might also require such as plastering, plumbing, electrics including the first and second fix, flooring, tiling, and even knocking down the odd wall or two if required.
We offer this service to all our customers, ensuring total attention to detail and full project management when you buy a new kitchen from us.
Waiting for your kitchen
If you choose a stock kitchen it is normally available to be delivered within three weeks, however we will be able to confirm an estimated delivery date with you when you place your order to help you make the necessary plans. Made to order styles can take a little longer as these are manufactured to your exact size and colour preferences.
The great thing about a Kitchenroom kitchen is that the cabinets come assembled with the doors already drilled and fitted. This has the dual advantages of saving fitting time, and also providing another opportunity for quality checking, meaning that any faults or imperfections should be picked up before your kitchen even reaches you.
All our cabinets we manufacture will come with a 25 year guarantee and are fitted with Blum Soft close hinges and runners as standard out of the factory. We also offer (at no extra charge) eight colour options to colour co-ordinate the inside of the cabinets with the colour of your kitchen, so you could have light grey, cashmere, porcelain, or lancaster oak to name a few. Your kitchen will be stylish on the inside as well as the outside!
Fitting your new kitchen
A lot of our customers ask us how much does it cost to fit a new fitted kitchen, and the answer to that depends a various options due to the complexity of your design.
As a rule of thumb we can say that our average size fitted kitchen costs around £1,500 to £1,800 to fit and takes around 2 – 3 weeks from start to finish, although we always recommend building in a little bit of contingency time and budget for any unexpected delays, changes in plan or surprises.
During the first week of your fitting you can expect to see the old kitchen being removed, and a start being made on the plastering, plumbing and electrics. It is during the second week that you will really start to see your new kitchen come to life, with units being installed, and depending on the material, worktops being fitted. It really is an exciting moment to see all those plans on paper being turned into reality. During week three the finishing touches will be made, with tiles being installed, final fix electrics and handles being put into place. All that upheaval will seem so worth it, believe us!
If you have opted for a kitchen makeover, the transformation can take between 2 – 3 days depending on the works needed to be carried out ie: the worktops taking a longer time to fit. The average price for the kitchen makeover service is between GBP 500.00 to GBP 1,000.00
Time to enjoy
Once the fitting is complete, all that’s left for us to do is to pay you a visit to check you’re happy with everything and take some photos of the finished kitchen. We will of course ask for feedback in the form of a review too, so you can let everyone know just how pleased you are with your new fitted kitchen from Kitchenroom.
